After the work is done, Nicholas retreats to the family library and retrieves a book which he proceeds to burn. After it has been satisfactorily destroyed, he gathers his gear and a spare trump deck, and then trumps back to his shadow via Lysandra. From there, he collects his mount and heads off to the shadow mentioned in the Dilvish books, thinking to himself that somebody's got to see what's got Sakura so excited.

Long way down. Of course that was the point of setting up flight operations on a cliff. Malserrin strode across the grassy field. The grass was fading to yellow and short - not enough water, too much heat. And the grass died completely almost a yard from the hard asphault tarmacs which cut at non-congruent angles across the grassy field. The hangar doors were partly open, which meant they were partly closed as well. Approaching quickly, Malserrin could see the bulk of an airship...

[This takes place a short while before the Shindig thread, and is open to anyone to join. I haven't quite decided where it's going to head, so anything goes at this point. I don't think this would conflict with the Shindig since even if the rest of the Family knows that Vince is back, Mal doesn't answer Trumps anyway and may not have heard yet.

Even at the distance, Malserrin could make out a few words. The most easy to pick out was ambush, but it seemed that they thought Malserrin had set an ambush for them, not the other way around. Fair enough, but they had fired first. Malserrin would give them a chance to change their ways. If they wanted too. Apparently they did not, as the three archers drew more arrows from their quivers and let loose another volley. Malserrin also noted a few other dirty looking men with swords...

The occasional update from her sources in shadow serves to remind Nityana of freshly broken promises - especially her Father's "We'll re-evaluate the matter in two months". Though that matter still remains well in control, there is still the distant chance that some unexpected circumstance could trigger an escalation... and boring-but-frequent reports keep this trivial matter in her thoughts when she would rather spend the brainpower on something else.
